New details on Batman: Arkham City gadgets and baddies

There’s hardly any time to go before the release of Batman: Arkham City (around a month, for those of you playing at home) and this week GTTV got the scoop on a few more details regarding Rocksteady’s upcoming release. When players step into the shoes (or is that sexy boots?) of Batman next month, they’ll have at leats two new gadgets at their disposal, as well as a newly announced villian to beat down.

Uncharted – Golden Abyss TGS gameplay walkthrough

Sony has posted a new 11 minute look at their upcoming Vita release Uncharted: Golden Abyss on their official blog. The walkthrough showcases some very impressive gameplay, animation, cutscene and storytelling, especially when you consider this is being run on a handheld platform. Nathan is his spectacular wise cracking self, and the addition of motion controls and the introduction of a new character are definitely positives in my book. Check out the trailer below.

PS Vita confirmed to be region free

It’s the announcement everyone has been waiting for (well, at least everyone thinking of purchasing a PS Vita anyway). Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Computer Entertainment president of Worldwide Studies confirmed on his Twitter that the PS Vita will indeed be region free. Good news for those of us considering a Vita purchase, and a good move by Sony, at least in my opinion.

You’ll now be able to plan out your character’s active and passive skills long before the game’s release. PS Vita to receive external battery to extend 3-5 hr battery life

After the rather shocking announcement that the PS Vita’s battery life will be a paultry 3-5 hours game time (which sent gamers into a twitching frenzy) Sony has announced plans to offer an external battery pack in an effort to assuage gamer’s fears. SCEA Worldwide studios president Shuhei Yoshida, speaking in an interview with IGN reassured worried gamers by stating “If you’re flying from New York to San Francisco or vice versa, you’ll have no concerns [about battery life] if you have the additional external battery.”

Details regarding The Secret World’s group play revealed

Group-play within Funcom’s upcoming MMO release The Secret World has been detailed by Joel Bylos, lead content designer. Speaking with Electric Playground, Bylos stated “We really feel that an MMO is a shared experience, right? It’s very important that people work together to solve these problems. That’s the greatest feeling of achievement: when you work together with other people to overcome something.” The groups will consist of five characters, with that number extended to ten for raiding groups.
