Our review for Star Wars: Battlefront is now up! We jump into the new game and put it through its paces, all while reminiscing over other Star Wars games. It’s been a long, long time since a game took us to that galaxy far, far away. The games set in the Star Wars universe were more prolific once, many refusing to be bound by either expectation or genre. They weren’t all great and didn’t appeal to everybody, but some of the highlights of gaming can be found here.

This is not meant to detract at all from the gameplay itself, which feels great in almost all circumstances, but there is so much character brimming through the same that it’s hard for anything else to eclipse the tone it sets. Welcome to Hoon Town.

Expectations were at an all-time high following Bethesda’s impressive showing at E3 this year, meaning that the final product was going to have to be extremely high class to live up to the hype. Thankfully, for the most part, it does. But it also falls painfully short in some areas.

CD Projekt Red’s third instalment in the life of the titular witcher, Geralt of Rivia, is a game that feels larger than any of the behemoths one might encounter while playing.

It doesn’t necessarily turn a game into more than it might already be, but what it does is convey a sense of tranquility. We all saw how crucial lore was in Inquisition – it was like they sharpened it and very sneakily stabbed us in the back with it. Inquisition’s first story-based DLC, Jaws of Hakkon, is now out and available for all platforms, and while it doesn’t address our elven-pantheon related questions, it does give us an extra adventure with new allies and enemies in a beautiful new area […]

Sadly, the game was heavily marred by technical bugs, poor design choices and an almost incomprehensible narrative. All the key ingredients for a great game were there, but they weren’t executed properly. But it seems old Shinji and his pals had a few tricks left up their sleeves, and the two story-focused DLC’s, The Assignment and The Consequence almost completely redeem the franchise. Many […]

It’s like someone in the back office wasn’t ready to pull the trigger on a sequel, and settled on another cliched ‘HD update’ instead.

My comrades lean out the windows and return fire, buying me time to get away when BOOM, hit by an RPG. Respawn. Find the guy who killed you. Pull the sexy man pose. Battlefield Hardline is always fun.
