Read more »EB Games put on the newest version of their games Expo this year, starting for most on October 3rd, and running through until October 5th. I went along to do coverage for Save Game, but the truth is I would’ve went regardless. The first time I went was Expo 2012, and due to not being in the neighbourhood last year, this was my second chance to attend. I can’t compare with how it might have been last year, but there was a definite shift in atmosphere over that two year period. The early throw at the event felt empty in […]

Read more »It’s been a while between releases for the Wasteland series. The first Wasteland released in 1988, and thanks to a very successful kickstarter by InXile Entertainment, Wasteland 2 is now available, with only a 26 year wait between titles. That wait has definitely been worth it, however, with Wasteland 2 showcasing the very best of the post-apocalyptic RPG genre. Whilst this genre has seen many titles release over the past few years, Wasteland 2 epitomises the sense of exploration, of creativity and adventure that has been largely absent in many of the genre’s newest releases. If you’re like me and […]
Read more »FIFA 15 is EA Sport’s quintessential football simulation. Having played the last 5 iterations of the franchise, it is remarkable to see the subtle yet profound changes that have created what most fans would agree, is their most realistic and challenging game of football. It’s become almost a cliche to refer to FIFA’s yearly release as “evolutionary” while Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series, has had to implement “revolutionary” changes to compete with EA’s juggernaut. However, while FIFA15 offers the user a myriad of gameplay features, excellent presentation and an engaging multi-player experience, it still leaves this particular virtual football player […]
Read more »On a sunny saturday at EB Expo, I stopped by the Warner Bros booth to check out the latest game from Techland. After an introductory video that showed how to play, I was thrown into the playable demo of Dying Light, side-by-side with zombies, and a few horsemen past the apocalypse. It was almost a leisurely walk, but if you’ve kept up with this title, you’d know that as day falls to night, the pace (as well as the danger would pick up). As soon as the rain began, the skies began to darken, and if not for a last minute […]
Read more »Playstation Australia invited Save Game along to a launch event on the eve of EB Expo, giving members of the gaming press a chance to get a hands-on with some brand new games coming out for Playstation 4, and something else that’s without compare, an empty Expo hall. There were a number of games on display, including The Order 1886, Little Big Planet 3, Bloodborne and of course, DRIVECLUB.
Read more »So there’s this little game called Destiny. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. No other game in recent memory has had such an enormous, prolonged marketing blitz before launch. And no game has had such a divisive reaction from fans and critics after launch. Is Destiny a soulless failure? Is it the future of gaming? Is it both? Destiny is, perhaps by design, a game that is difficult to love, yet impossible to put down. So forming a coherent opinion on it has been difficult. How do I judge something that, by its creators own admission, is far from complete?
