PAX Australia 2016

pax2016

Is it really that time already? Yes, now that everyone’s safely recovered from the dreaded PAX pox (and if you haven’t, best get that checked out), it’s time for us to cast our eyes to the coming year, and that means thinking about the next PAX Australia. PAX Rising Spotlight: The Something Else

mallow-drops

There are some games that demand notice, though not necessarily reverence. Each of these games stood out above their peers in some way, whether from the buzz they generated, the acclaim they received, or some other factor that made them fit into a nice and neat list of four.

I had the chance to sit down with Max Chuvalov, Stephen Wang and Randall King from Wargaming over the PAX weekend. Max is the World of Tanks Marketing Product Manager, Stephen is the Wargaming CTG Sydney General Manager, and Randall is the Executive Producer of WG Austin.  As far as PAX Australia appearances go, it’s Wargaming’s third in a row, and they’re quite vocal about being pleased to be part of the event, and the community at large.

Community Report: EB Expo 2015

EB Expo

It’s a little sad when you know you’re at the furthest possible point from another EB Expo. Sure, October itself is almost a celebration of gaming in Australia, but being in the midst of the season means being closer to the end.

The first thing that needs to be said is that Bonus Stage is an enjoyable experience. If you ever have the chance, you should go. A special edition of the live video game stage show, Bonus Stage, was held in the familiar surrounds of the Giant Dwarf theatre, in the aftermath of an Oz Comic Con Saturday here in Sydney.
